Southland Holdings is seeking a certified and experienced Crane Operator to safely operate a Tadano GR-800XL-4 (100-ton Rough Terrain Crane) at our project site in Shiprock, New Mexico. The ideal candidate will hold current nationally accredited crane certifications (NCCCO, NCCER, or CIC), demonstrate exceptional safety awareness, and bring at least five years of hands-on crane operating experience in heavy civil or industrial construction.

Summary:
Southland Holdings is seeking a certified and experienced Crane Operator to safely operate a Tadano GR-800XL-4 (100-ton Rough Terrain Crane) at our project site in Shiprock, New Mexico. The ideal candidate will hold current nationally accredited crane certifications (NCCCO, NCCER, or CIC), demonstrate exceptional safety awareness, and bring at least five years of hands-on crane operating experience in heavy civil or industrial construction.
- Current Mobile Crane Operator Certification from a nationally accredited organization such as NCCCO (CCO), NCCER, or CIC
- Certification must match the size and capacity of the crane operated (Tadano GR-800XL-4, 100-ton RT Crane)
- Telescopic Hydraulic Boom endorsement required
- Minimum 5 years of verifiable experience operating mobile, lattice boom, telescopic, or crawler cranes
- Must pass a post-offer drug screen and meet all physical requirements
- Safely operate a Tadano GR-800XL-4 (100-ton Rough Terrain Crane) in accordance with manufacturer load charts and lift plans
- Lift, move, and position materials, equipment, and concrete piles with precision and control
- Perform daily inspections, maintenance checks, and accurate equipment logs
- Identify, report, and correct potential safety hazards immediately
- Read lift plans and locate sheets to avoid underground or overhead utilities
- Communicate effectively with riggers, signalpersons, and site supervision
- Adhere to Southland Holdings’ safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Thorough understanding of load charts, rigging practices, and critical lift procedures
- Familiarity with sub-base materials, aggregate placement, and compaction preferred
- Knowledge of safe-work procedures, including flagging, spotting, and PPE use
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Reliable attendance and a team-oriented attitude
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods while operating equipment
- Capable of lifting, climbing, kneeling, and squatting to handle heavy materials
- Must be able to work outdoors in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, dust, noise)
