A Southland Holdings company is currently accepting resumes for an experienced Bridge Foreman for our project in Lake Charles.
Responsibilities:
Provide overall leadership and direct the activities of field crew employees. Work with field employees to increase productivity.
Review projects to focus on equipment and manpower; review job costs and equipment utilization reports. Plan and review projects with Project Managers, Estimators, and Superintendents.
Oversee the construction, repair, and maintenance of bridges and other related structures, ensuring all work is performed safely and efficiently.
Inspect equipment regularly for repairs, proper utilization, and to address any signs of abuse or neglect.
Actively participate in safety-related training programs to enhance skills and knowledge base.
Perform job site quality control checks to ensure compliance with design plans and specifications.
Ensure quality assurance in all phases of work, including setting forms, rebar installation, concrete placement, and post-tensioning (if applicable).
Monitor job site operations for compliance with contract requirements, safety regulations, and environmental standards, including dust and noise control.
Actively promote a safety-conscious culture, following all safety regulations and mentoring crew members, particularly new hires.
Education/Experience:
High School education is required.
5+ years of experience as a Foreman in bridge construction or related heavy civil work.
Strong understanding of bridge construction methods, including forming, reinforcing, and concrete placement.
Prior experience operating heavy equipment used in bridge construction is a plus.
