Johnson Bros. a Southland Holdings company is currently accepting resumes for an experienced Carpenter Foreman for our large heavy civil project located in Lake Worth, FL. 
Responsibilities:
  • Scheduling workers’ time and assigning tasks to ensure that projects are completed on time
  • Inspecting completed work to make sure it meets quality standards.
  • Coordinating with other subcontractors on large projects as needed to ensure that work flows smoothly from start to finish.
  • Managing daily operations, including ordering materials and supplies, hiring new employees, and scheduling work shifts
  • Supervising workers to ensure that they perform their jobs in accordance with safety protocols and industry standards.
  • Reviewing blueprints with architects or engineers to determine the materials needed for construction projects.
  • Setting up work sites with the appropriate tools and materials for construction projects
  • Reviewing bids from contractors to determine which one is most likely to meet project requirements within budget parameters.
  • Coordinating with architects, engineers, designers, and other professionals to ensure that construction plans meet building codes and other requirements.
  • Responsible for crew performance in meeting quality and safety standards
  • Fill out daily reports including crew member’s hours, equipment hours, appropriate cost codes, and production quantities.
  • Communicate effectively with Project Superintendent and Project Managers
  • Participate in safety-related training programs to increase skill set and knowledge base.
  • Perform jobsite quality control checks.
Qualifications:
  • At least 5 years of Carpentry experience
  • At least 2 years of Carpenter Foreman experience
  • ADOT experience preferred but not required
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Extensive knowledge of the tools and equipment involved in utility work – such as excavators, pumps, backhoes, bobcats, loaders, etc.
  • Ability to understand and interpret construction drawings and specs
  • Ability to plan, organize, direct, and evaluate crew members’ work
Certifications:
  • OSHA Safety Course Certification (30 hour)
  • CPR Certification
